S&P Enhances Insurance Ratings Web Site.....

Standard & Poor's is making it easier to find valuable information about the financial strength of an insurance company.  S&P rolled out a new search engine on it's Insurance Ratings web site last month.  Internet users can now get financial strength ratings and information on the more than 4,000 insureres S&P rates.  The service is available at no charge, The Insurance Advocate reported.  To access S&P rating on the web point your browser to www.standardandpoors.com. 

• Under ratings, click on "Insurance Ratings" to access the insurance ratings page. 
• In the left hand frame, click on "Insurance Ratings"
• then click on "Insurer Financial Strength Ratings" (also in the left hand frame).  This takes you to a screen that permits searching for a rating by company name, type of company, country of domicile and for U.S. companies, state of domicile.  S&P updates the ratings daily.
